The sounds of construction continue to echo throughout the Belhaven neighborhood and downtown Jackson as crews begin putting final touches on the new “mixed-use” building. This facility located on the corner of North State Street and Manship Street will house retail stores and medical offices and will be called The Belhaven.
The project is a $75 million investment to the city of Jackson. The five story building is approximately 180,000 square feet housing retail business on the ground level and medical offices on the other floors being leased to physicians in a full range of specialties.
Landmark Healthcare Facilities will own and manage the building. Baptist Health Systems funded a skybridge, approximately 17 feet tall, towering over State Street to connect the new facility to the second floor of the existing Baptist Medical Center. Baptist is also financing a new parking garage behind the new building. It is anticipated that tenants will start moving in the facility in May, but not officially open for business until June 2013.
As of April 2013, tenants for the new building include:
First floor retail:
• Millie D's Frozen Yogurt
• The Manship
