For at least 20 years, Baptist has celebrated life during National Cancer Survivors Day. The event is held the first Sunday in June, and this year’s celebration took place at the Old Capitol Inn with approximately 160 people attending. This year’s guest speaker was cancer survivor Walter Redden. Radiation Oncologist Richard Friedman, MD, served as the emcee, and entertainment was provided by Internal Medicine Physician Sam Peeples, MD.
