Baptist Physical Therapist Jason D. Reeves, MPT, OCS, has been awarded the Orthopedic Specialty Physical Therapy Certification (OCS) by The American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS). The organization focuses to improve public health by enhancing clinical excellence in physical therapy practice through credentialing clinical specialists. Reeves is the clinic manager at Baptist Physical Therapy and Sports Care – Madison Campus, a division of Baptist Health Systems.
Additionally, the McKenzie Institute also recently certified Reeves in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, which is an approach that is trusted and used by practitioners and patients to treat the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
Reeves, who graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2006 with a Masters of Physical Therapy degree and has nearly a decade of Orthopedic Physical Therapy experience.
To date, fewer than 20 physical therapists in Mississippi hold the OSC credential, and according to ABPTS, as of June 2013, only 8,523 physical therapists in the nation hold this prestigious credential.Reeves’ is one of only 15 in Mississippi who holds the certification in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy through the McKenzie Institute.
