Each year, September is recognized as Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month and is a perfect time to encourage women to learn more about these types of cancer including early detection and prevention. According to the National Cervical Cancer Coalition, every year in the United States, about 89,000 women are diagnosed with and more than 29,000 die from a gynecologic cancer.
GYN Oncologist Jimmy Moore, MD, with Baptist Gynecologic Oncology clinic, appeared on NBC's Affiliate WLBT to discuss the types of gynecologic cancers, warning signs and treatment options.
