Heather Anderson was selected as Baptist Health Systems Caregiver of the Month for April. A compassionate nurse who touches the lives of her patients and her co-workers every day, Anderson goes the extra mile in her PATH service. Her career at Baptist Medical Center began as a student extern on 6A in 2008. Following her externship, she moved to the orthopedic unit where she has worked for a little over four years and has since become nationally certified in orthopedics.
Anderson was chosen as the Baptist “Nurse Rookie of the Year” in 2009 and was invited to attend the following year’s Nightingale Awards Gala. Although Heather did not visualize herself as an orthopedic nurse prior to graduation, she enjoys her work with her patients and fellow team members at Baptist.
She has received many compliments from them as well, such as “outstanding nurse” and providing “excellent patient care.” Anderson resolves issues in a quiet and calm manner and goes the extra mile to help a patient. Plus, she doesn’t mind volunteering to assist Patient Care Associates (PCAs) when they need assistance.
Those under Anderson’s care report she always has a smile on her face and a positive attitude when answering the call button. One patient noted that he would recommend Baptist to family and friends based on his interaction with her and a fellow nurse. Patients describe of her as “Super Nurse.”
