No hay tratamientos específicos para la hepatitis A. Los objetivos del tratamiento para hepatitis A son:

  • Mantenerlo lo más cómodo posible
  • Evitar que la infección sea transmitida a otras personas
  • Prevenir mayor daño hepático al ayudarle a evitar sustancias que pudieran alterar a su hígado (p.e., medicamentos, alcohol) mientras esté sanando.

El tratamiento para otros tipos de hepatitis involucra lo siguiente:

Cambios en el estilo de vida
Terapias alternativas y complementarias

Actualmente no hay procedimientos quirúrgicos para tratar la hepatitis viral.
