Vice President Patient Care Services/CNO Baptist Health Systems
Bobbie K. Ware began her career at Baptist in 1989 as a nurse in the Operating Room. In 1991, she became the IV/Oncology Coordinator for Home Health, which was acquired by Baptist. In 2000, she moved to the medical center where she accepted the leadership position for Oncology Services and spearheaded the planning and development of the Hederman Cancer Center, which opened in 2002. In 2006 she was named Vice President for Cancer and Support Services and in 2007 accepted the position of Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer for Baptist Health Systems.
As Chief Nursing Officer, Ware provides leadership to more than 850 RNs in the Nursing Department as well as the departments of Pharmacy, Education, and Respiratory Therapy. She also chairs the Nursing Coordinating Council and the Nursing Leadership Council at Baptist.
Ware received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Mississippi College and recently became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), the nation’s leading professional society for healthcare leaders. In 2004 Ware was named one of Mississippi’s Top 40 Under 40 Women Business Leaders. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Mississippi Nurses Association, American College of Healthcare Executives, Mississippi Hospital Association and the American Academy of Medical Administrators.
The Mississippi Nurses Association recently awarded Ware with the 2010 Nursing Administrator of the Year award at the annual Nightingale Awards gala ceremony.
