Making Strides

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Saturday, October 26, 9 a.m.
Downtown Jackson

Baptist is the flagship sponsor of the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" 5K noncompetitive walk/run. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, October 26 at the State Capitol starting at 9:00 a.m.

Baptist employee Merlene Myrick, a breast cancer survivor, shares the following testimony: "Life can change in an instant! That is exactly what happened when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. In the bed one night I noticed soreness in my breast. After palpating, realized I had a lump. After a couple of days refusing to talk to anyone, reality hits home. Your treatment plan begins. I believe God’s plan for me is to fight against breast cancer, change the way the world views breast cancer, celebrate survivorship, honor those who have lost their battle, and most importantly raise funds and awareness for the fight against this life threatening disease."
