Baptist's low-cost screening packages are an affordable way to get recommended health services and information. The screenings include health checks medical experts urge for preventing many serious illnesses, such as heart disease, breast cancer, and lung cancer.
Routine health checks can help find problems before they start. They can also detect problems early, when the chances for treatment and cure are better. Keep in mind that many conditions, such as high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol, don’t cause symptoms until the disease becomes advanced. Most people who have high blood pressure don't even know it.* That’s where Baptist’s screening programs can help.
Our most popular screening program, the Heart Basic, is now offered through Baptist Medical Clinic. With many clinics in the Jackson metro area, you can have the Heart Basic screening at a location near your home or job.

When you call to register for your screening, Baptist’s staff will ask you questions, such as your age and gender. They may also ask you about your personal or family medical history. The answers to these questions allow us to make sure you are registering for the screening that will provide the best health information for you and your healthcare provider.
During registration, our staff will make an appointment for you at the first available date and time convenient for you. All screenings are scheduled by appointment.
After you have completed your screening, your results are handed off to doctors and nurses at Baptist to evaluate. The doctors and nurses who evaluate our screening tests are specialists in their areas. For example, board certified cardiologists review advanced heart screenings. Thoracic surgeons and pulmonologists review advanced lung tests.
After our medical experts have evaluated your screening results, Baptist will give you a report. For most screenings, we mail you, and the physician of your choice, a complete report of the findings. Along with your report, we will provide any recommended next steps. We are able to provide most screening results in approximately three weeks. If your results indicate a need for immediate attention, we will contact you by phone using the telephone number you provided.
Baptist does not file insurance for these screening packages. We accept cash or checks at Baptist Medical Center. Baptist Medical Clinic locations accept cash, checks or credit cards.
