Baptist Nutrition and Bariatric Center, part of Baptist Health Systems, offers a wide range of medically supervised programs, including bariatric surgery, that can help you reach a healthy weight, manage chronic diseases affected by your diet, and overall develop a healthier lifestyle.
For our medical weight loss programs, Baptist Nutrition and Bariatric Center utilizes a three-phase approach designed to help you reduce, adapt, and maintain a healthy weight. Our multidisciplinary staff includes physicians, nurses, dietitians, counselors, and exercise specialists to monitor your progress throughout the program and ensure safe and effective weight loss.
Plans include Outlook Weight Management, for those who need to lose a moderate amount of weight, and New Directions, for those with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 30 and greater, who benefit from more aggressive weight loss measures.

Baptist Nutrition and Bariatric Center offers three bariatric surgical options through Baptist Medical Center. Surgical options include laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding, and laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy. To support patients who bariatric surgery, Baptist provides free orientation, patient education and ongoing nutritional and medical services following surgery.

All weight management programs of Baptist Nutrition and Bariatric Center include a three-month membership to Baptist Healthplex. Baptist Healthplex offers locations in Jackson and Clinton, with personal trainers skilled in helping people of all ages and abilities successfully perform fitness routines that accomplish their desired objectives. They take into consideration any medical conditions that affect exercise, and help monitor progress.
